I had a conversation this week with Brayden “Prod” Rovito and we talked about quite a few things involving his career. I asked him about his Esports story and he told me “I've always been super competitive my entire life and I kinda fell into playing league just out of boredom. When I was younger I played games like 2k, madden, and cod. I believe it was when I turned 12 or 13 that I got super interested in pc games and really wanted to play Counter Strike which was the first game I ever played on pc. I began to find the idea of playing games professionally a dream of mine when I was watching Counter Strike majors. I played it and other random games for a bit and then I fell into playing h1z1 which was my first taste of playing true competitive in any game. At the time I was 13 and made a team with my friends and we competed in random tournaments and played in a few qualifiers for the equivalent of tier 1 but never made it along with the game also dying fairly soon after. Although along with the death of h1z1, Tyler1 had also gotten unbanned from league and at the time i was watching his stream a lot so I thought playing league would be fun cause I really didn't want to transfer into playing fortnite like the rest of the h1z1 players did. and since season 8 I've been grinding League ever since.” After my conversation with Castle (Found Here) I was interested to see who Prod would list as his rival. “Do you have anyone you consider a rival within the conference?”
“I don’t think I'd consider any one specific person in the conference to be a rival but I'd definitely say our main rivals are Grand View University. Before I even arrived at Ottawa the schools had been rivals and no games compared to a game vs Grand View.” Watch more League of Legends on the MEC stream at twitch.tv/unifiedlive and keep up with Brayden and the Ottawa University program on their competition page, @esports_ottawa on X!Rival To Watch
